Global Hotel Blacklist

The hotel accommodation industry internationally has various measures to protect its business assets and reputation. The Global Hotel Blacklist (also known as: DNR “Do Not Rent list, Restricted Guest List, Guest Ban List”) is a database of undesirable guests reported by verified hotel accommodation providers.

The public register lists individuals reported by hotels and all forms of accommodation providers. It is a name and shame register. It gives hotel managers and accommodation providers globally the resource and ability to search for and identify a Black Listed unsavory individual. They then have the choice to block, reject or refuse the reservation at their venue.

What is Guest Misconduct

There are various circumstances or acts of misconduct for which a hotel guest is Blacklisted and registered on hotelblacklist.org. The Black List is a global hotel and accommodation industry lifetime register. It is searchable, and includes the full name of undesirable individuals that have been reported for serious misconduct. That misconduct includes violating hotel policies, aggressive or disrespectful behavior, theft, property damage and disturbances. It also covers non-payment, credit card fraud and payment chargebacks. Bitter individuals that submit false malicious reviews online are listed here too. So is any / all illegal activities including; prostitution, verbal or physical assaults, drugs and celebrity criminals. In other words, anyone that is registered on this website is undesirable and of poor character. They should not be provided accommodation under any circumstances.

Property Damage

This relates to damage to any hotel property, appliances, room fixtures or furniture that is NOT caused by normal usage. Property damage for the purpose of being Blacklisted occurs with inappropriate negligence or is with malicious intent to break or damage hotel property. It also covers the disrespectful act of leaving a hotel room in an unacceptable condition requiring excessive housekeeping.

Abusive Behavior

Abusive behavior towards hotel staff or other guests is a serious offence including swearing, yelling, verbal insults, physical threat and unreasonable demands. Unpleasant individuals that have displayed such violence or abusive behavior are flagged as highrisk on the Hotel Blacklist database. They are proudly named and shamed as unacceptable for society or the hotel accommodation industry.

Illegal Activities

Unfortunately online booking sites send undesirable reservations to accommodation providers. These individuals have a documented history of engaging in illegal activities. That includes prostitution, verbal or physical assaults, drug dealing, hotel property theft, entering guests rooms to steal and credit card fraud. These low life persons are often celebrity criminals with convictions published online.

Disturbances

Quiet enjoyment is a basic right of every hotel guest. Unruly persons that cause disturbances effecting the reasonable peace, comfort, and privacy of other hotel guest/s will be Blacklisted. This includes disruptive behavior that crosses the line from civil to unruly. Shouting, loud arguments or playing loud music, unauthorised parties and smoking in forbidden zones all qualify. So does entering restricted areas or another guests room.

Property Theft

Property or financial theft is illegal and often involves law enforcement. This obviously includes theft of hotel property. Not just a bath towel, but any stolen item that is the property of the hotel or another guest. Financial theft includes none payment of an account, or using a stolen credit card to pay for accommodation and services. It also includes initiating a bank credit card charge back, sadly common in the industry.

Malicious Reviews

Guests that publish unwarranted or malicious online reviews without a valid cause are wilfully damaging a hotels reputation. The Blacklist database gladly assists the hotel industry in blocking these opinionated entitled predators. Typically these unpleasant keyboard cowards will publish a false or negative review with sensational or pessimistic opinions. It is a form of online retribution.
